(1) Is the Final Exam proctored?

YES!

You must take the Final Exam in a CSN Testing Center computer (either on the Henderson, North Las Vegas, or West Charleston Campus). If you do not drive or you do not own a car there are always busses, taxis, Uber, Lyft, relatives, and friends. If you need a sitter for your children, please find child care sites on the Internet if you don't have relatives or friends available.

Please note that the CSN Testing Centers open every day at 8 AM and the latest the exam can be taken is 2 PM. You MUST make an appointment to take the Final Exam. You MUST show an UNEXPIRED picture identification with your name, date of birth, and signature included otherwise you will not be tested. The instructor WILL NOT accept excuses such as "I lost my ID" or "My ID was stolen" or "I didn't have time to go to the DMV".

If you are registered with the CSN Disability Resource Center and you want to take the comprehensive Final Exam in their facilities, you need to send the instructor your official Accommodation Letter during the first week of the semester.  Be aware that you might not be able to take the exam if your documentation is sent too late or not at all.

NOTE: It is up to you to get testing accomplished! There will be no make-ups possible for the Final Exam!

(2) How soon can a CSN Testing Center appointment be made to take the Final Exam?

Wait for the instructor's announcement on the MOM "General Communication" Forum.

(3) When is the Final Exam available?

The Final Exam becomes available on Tuesday of Finals Week and closes that Friday. Check Dr. Stewart's Tentative Course Schedule. You can find its (brown) button on the Canvas Course Home Page. The Final Exam cannot be completed after its availability period!

NOTE: Taking the Final Exam at the last possible minute might not let you make other arrangements in case of an emergency that the instructor is then unwilling to perceive as such. Therefore, it is recommended that you take the Final Exam as soon as it becomes available.

(4) Where can the Final Exam be found?

The proctored, comprehensive Final Exam can be found in the MOM "Tasks Folder 16".

(5) What types of questions are on the Final Exam?

The questions on the Final Exam will be taken from the Module 1, 2, and 3 Quizzes. Hint: Concentrate on the questions with a smiley icon. It is recommended that you rework all questions and make a little study list of the concepts and procedures you encounter. Of course, you cannot use this study list while you take the exam.

(6) How does the Final Exam affect my course grade?

The grade of the Final Exam counts for 20% of your course grade.

(7) What happens at the Testing Center?

• You must sign a roster. Then the proctor will check your UNEXPIRED picture ID and compare your name to the class roster the instructor submitted.
• The proctor will ask for your cell phone. It will be kept in a safe place.
• The proctor will give you scratch paper and then will check your work space. You can only have pencils, an eraser, and a hand-held calculator on the desk.
• Once you have accessed the exam in MOM, the proctor will input a password.
• All the questions will appear. Do check that all questions loaded properly. If not, talk to the proctor right away. The staff knows what to do if this happens. If not, INSIST that he or she contacts the instructor immediately. Do not take "NO" for an answer. You might have to ask for the supervisor. STAY AT YOUR COMPUTER UNTIL THE INSTRUCTOR RESPONDS.

(8) Does the Final Exam have a due date?

YES! Check Dr. Stewart's Tentative Course Schedule. You can find its (brown) button on the Canvas Course Home Page.

(9) How many times can the Final Exam be taken?

The Final Exam can be taken exactly ONCE.

(10) Can Final Exam questions be reworked?

SORT OF...! You are allowed to revisit any question while taking the exams should you feel that your answer needs a second look. However, you will not be told whether an answer is correct or incorrect until after you submit your exams.

(11) What is NOT allowed while taking the Final Exam?

• You CANNOT use textbooks, notes, formulas, the Internet, or other reference materials.
• You CANNOT use a cellphone, online, or smart watch calculator. You also cannot use Desmos.
• You CANNOT leave the testing room once you have started an exam (e.g, no bathroom breaks) unless you press the "submit" button.

(12) What is allowed while taking the Final Exam?

• You CAN use any physical scientific or graphing calculator (e.g., TI-30X IIS, TI-30X MultiView, TI 84) with physical buttons. You must bring your own!
• You CAN use scratch paper. However, your proctor will give it to you.
• Do have available at least two pencils (not pens) and an eraser.

(13) How much time is given to complete the Final Exam?

You will be given 120 minutes (2 hours). The time is indicated in the top right-hand corner of the exam.

(14) Does the Final Exam have to be completed once it is accessed?

YES! Once you start the exam the clock timer will start. When it reaches 120 minutes you will no longer be able to access the exam. Remember, you only have one (1) attempt!

(15) What happens if there is a technical problem while taking the Final Exam?

Talk to the proctor right away if you encounter technical problems. INSIST that he or she contacts the instructor immediately. Do not take "NO" for an answer. You might have to ask for the supervisor. STAY AT YOUR COMPUTER UNTIL THE INSTRUCTOR RESPONDS.

YOU CANNOT CLAIM "TECHNICAL PROBLEMS" AFTER THE HARD DUE DATE!

(16) When can the Final Exam grade and the answers be reviewed?

You will be able to open and review the Final Exam AFTER the hard due date/time. Click on the "Gradebook" link, find the Final Exam link, and then click on the "point-score" in the "Grade" column.
